Opportunity: Humanities New York seeks Development and Communications Intern

Announcements

August 20, 2024

Humanities New York seeks a curious, organized, and proactive undergraduate in their senior year or graduate student for a fall internship. Directly reporting to both the Manager of Marketing and Communications and the Manager of Development, the intern will have the opportunity to substantively contribute to important initiatives related to brand identity, audience development, and fundraising. HNY also anticipate that the intern will bring unique expertise in a relevant area, given the expansive nature of the Humanities. HNY are committed to providing individualized guidance and counseling and, in turn, look forward to a collaborative relationship that entails a two-way transfer of knowledge, ideas, and feedback.

As a trusted member of HNY's small and dedicated team, the individual will also gain cross-departmental, broad, non-profit sector experience through their assistance with active campaigns related to grant-making and programming. Through tasks related to promoting the work of grantees (including occasional site visits and/or events), the intern will have the opportunity to interact with stakeholders across the state, comprising a vast network of cultural experts, executives, donors, and advocates.

Note: the intern must be available to work in-person on Thursday and one other weekday of their choice, and currently be enrolled as an undergrad senior or grad student. Pay is $18/hour.
