Since 2005, the Society of Fellows and Heyman Center for the Humanities has provided a wide range of humanities programming--free of charge--to the many communities we serve. Our lectures, workshops, book panels, symposia, conferences, and other events--both online and in person--demonstrate how humanities methods, practices, and perspectives not only enrich our lives, but increase our capacity to understand complex social problems as well. Exploring such urgent issues as health and illness, climate and social justice, inclusion and diversity, our programming highlights the ways that interpretation and creative thinking--which are central to the humanities--produce new forms of knowledge aimed at advancing a more just society.
