Scott Morrison is a political theorist and comparative political scientist working on Islam and the Middle East. He completed the doctorate in 2003 at Columbia University's Department of Political Science. His dissertation compared contemporary Arab writings on the subject of mosque-state relations, and secularism in the Anglo-American liberal tradition.
Before joining the Society of Fellows, Morrison spent one year as a Fulbright scholar in Turkey, where he researched democratic consolidation issues, Turkey's relations with Europe, and indigenous Islamist intellectual life.
