Kay Zhang

Program Manager, SOF/Heyman, Columbia University

Kay Zhang is the Program Manager at the Society of Fellows and the Heyman Center for the Humanities at Columbia University. She received her undergraduate degree in English from Princeton University and her MFA in Poetry from Columbia University. She has taught English literature, expository writing, and creative writing courses in the New York area as an adjunct professor and workshop instructor. When not admiring her own bad jokes, she is working on a collection of poems that thinks spatially about learning—as a geologic process subject to natural phenomena such as sedimentation, faulting, and erosion as a feature of memory. The collection includes poems written from a child's perspective, a series in which Kay is interested in tracing a child's intuition, but without circumscribing the lexicon to that of a young person.
