Jennifer Greeson received her Ph.D in American Studies from Yale University and a B.A. in English from Duke University. Her primary field of study is American literature of the 18th and 19th centuries. She is the author of Our South: Geographic Fantasy and the Rise of American Literature (Harvard University Press, 2010), and the co-editor (with Robert B. Stepto) of the Norton Critical Edition of Charles Chesnutt's conjure tales. She teaches courses in early American literature, autobiography, and literature of the South.
