Professor James Hankins specializes in intellectual history of the Renaissance. His main research interests are the history of Renaissance political thought, history of philosophy, and history of the classical tradition. Hankins is the Founder and General Editor of the I Tatti Renaissance Library (Harvard University Press) and Associate Editor of the Catalogus Translationum and Commentariorum (Union Academique Internationale). Currently, he is working on a history of philosophical religions in the Renaissance and a book on Leonardo Bruni and Renaissance republicanism.
