William Deringer's book, Calculated Values: Finance, Politics, and the Quantitative Age (Harvard, 2018) was honored as co-winner of the 2021 Joseph J. Spengler Book Prize, given annually by the History of Economics Society for the best book published in the previous three years on the history of economics.
Calculated Values was previously awarded the 2019 Oscar Kenshur Book Prize for best interdisciplinary book in eighteenth-century studies by the Center for Eighteenth-Century Studies at Indiana University.
