Society of Fellows alumna Emma Shaw Crane has co-authored a report, "Sweet Land, Bitter Deal" about the Glades County Detention Center, a Florida immigration jail that exposed detained people to unbreathable air and other harmful conditions. The report also details that the Glades never delivered on promised economic benefits to the region. The report was sponsored by the ACLU Florida, Detention Watch Network, and EarthJustice, among others.
