Society of Fellows scholar Aamer Ibraheem presented the talk “The Syrian State of Injury” based on a forthcoming article at the Princeton University conference “History After the Fall of Assad” on February 27—28, 2026. Prior, on November 17, 2025, Ibraheem participated in a workshop titled “The Filiation and Affiliation of Jews, Muslims, and Others: Universalisms and Particularisms,” organized by anthropologists Erica Weiss and Sami Everett and held at the Department of Judaic Studies at Brown University.

In publication news, Ibraheem was invited by Current Anthropology to contribute a commentary on Khaled Furani’s recent article, “What If Anthropology Were a Spiritual Exercise?” The article, together with the commissioned commentaries and Furani’s response, is available online ahead of print.
