Alumna Vidya Dehejia ('84-'86) and Columbia Art History faculty curated a show at Columbia's Wallach Art Gallery in 2008. Though it has been a few years since the exhibition, the images of the works in the show are as breathtaking as ever. The show included some three hundred pencil drawings from the workshop of Oomersee Mawjee, the most famous of Kutch silversmiths. There are sketches of animals and birds and intricate tea pots adorned with elephant heads as the pouring spout. Click here to see the drawings from the exhibition.
