Three Fellows from the Society of Fellows move on this summer to take on new projects and positions.
Vanessa Agard-Jones, who was with us in Fall 2013 and Spring 2014, will join Yale University's faculty as Assistant Professor of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. In Vanessa's words, "while wistful about leaving the Society, she is eager to begin her new (commute-free!) life in the Elm City."
Fellow Teresa Bejan, who was also with us in the Fall of 2013 and Spring of 2014, moves on to a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto. In the first year, she will teach the introductory political theory survey, from Plato to Locke, for undergraduates, as well as a graduate seminar on “Toleration and its Limits.” She also hopes to have her book manuscript, Mere Civility: Tolerating Disagreement in Early Modern England and America, finished by spring of 2015.
Lastly, starting this Fall 2014, Ian McCready-Flora will begin a position as Assistant Professor of Philosophy at St. Louis University. He also continues to work on his manuscript, Rationality in Aristotle, and he will complete a project he has in the works on Plato's theory of emotion. Ian was with the Society of Fellows from Fall 2011 until this past spring. Best of luck to all our Fellows moving on!
