Women Mobilizing Memory: Book Launch

CSSD working group Women Mobilizing Memory will be celebrating the recent publication of their eponymous book Women Mobilizing Memory with a reception and brief presentations from some of the book’s contributors.

There will be comments from:

Sarah Cole, Columbia University Dean of Humanities
Jean Howard, George Delacorte Professor in the Humanities at Columbia University

…and brief presentations by the following contributors to the Women Mobilizing Memory book:

independent curator Isin Osol (based in Turkey, Austria, and the US)

artist and scholar Maria Jose Contreras Lorenzini (based in Chile)

author, teacher, and dramaturg Alisa Solomon (Director of Arts & Culture MA program at Columbia's J-School)

Boston University Assistant Professor of English Andrea Crow (former Columbia graduate student in the Women Mobilizing Memory working group)

New School University Associate Professor of Politics Deva Woodly

sociocultural anthropologist Banu Karaca (Istanbul Policy Center, Sabanci University)

The book launch is co-sponsored by the Columbia University Cultural Memory Seminar, the Columbia University Dean of Humanities, Columbia University Press, the Department of English and Comparative Literature and the Society of Fellows and Heyman Center for the Humanities.
