On the tenth anniversary of the passing of Professor Edward Said, Columbia University hosts an event to reflect on his legacy with four speakers and film screenings. Rashid Khalidi, Edward Said Professor of Modern Arab Studies, will provide the introduction. Reflections will be given by Jonathan Cole, John Mitchell Mason Professor of the University and Provost Emeritus of the University; Gauri Viswanathan, Class of 1933 Professor in the Humanities; Moustafa Bayoumi, Professor of English, Brooklyn College, CUNY; and Timothy Brennan, Professor of English and Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature, University of Minnesota.

The event will also feature film excerpts from documentaries on Edward Said.
